A bit about jd...

JD grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina and then spent four great years at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, earning a BA in education with a theatre minor.
After one year as a fifth grade teacher, he realized that he would have much more fun if he could combine his love of theatre with his desire to work with students. He was very fortunate to spend the next eleven years teaching and producing great theatre at EC Glass High School in Lynchburg, VA. In this capacity, he had the opportunity to work with some extraordinary students and theatre artists, taking advantage of the summer breaks to work with other theatre companies and travel as much as possible.
JD's years as a high school teacher eventually led him to a desire to further both his studies and his professional credentials as a theatre technician and educator, so he decided it was time for graduate school.
He is thrilled to be pursuing an MFA in Scenic Design and Technology at the University of Virginia, where he plans to gain as much practical and professional experience as possible before moving on in 2019.
